Razzie - Eden (R&B/CHH)

Razzie has released a Christian R&B Hip Hop track called 'Eden'. Derek Minor produced Eden, and Razzie wrote the lyrics. Eden was originally an entry in Derek Minor's contest. Derek Minor, an artist and producer, launched the competition through his beat store and announced it on social media. The rules stated that you had to rent a beat from his store, write lyrics, record an original song, and submit it to him. Following review, the first place winner would receive a single release deal with Derek and his label, the second place winner would receive an artist consultation. Razzie won second place and a one-on-one meeting with Derek after submitting Eden. The story behind the song is quite different. Eden is a song about triumphing over the enemy by relying solely on the power of Jesus Christ. The lyrics came naturally, such as 'What I got to lose, Got nothing to lose / When the Spirit fills the room, Demons chuck the deuce,' which explains the entire idea be

Anthem Worship - Save the Day (CCM)

Anthem Worship has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called 'Save the Day'. Anthem Worship released a six-song EP called 'Human.' One of the album's songs, Save the Day, is about how God's love is unconditional. The team shares: 'We wrote this song because we've all felt the pressure from people – friends, family, church. So it's easy to feel like we don't measure up and have to behave before we can even belong. This song is a testament to the fact that God wants us to belong before we even feel pressure to behave in a certain way. God's love is enough. It was inspired by growing up in a strict denomination that seems to focus more on the rules than everything. So many of our peers have felt similar pressure from the church and have since left.' A beautiful reminder that God doesn't care if we're perfect; he cares that we are ourselves and share the love that he has given us. Lyrics Read “Save the Day” by Ant

The Worship Initiative, Shane & Shane - Joy to the World (Joyful, Joyful) (CCM)

On Friday, November 11th, The Worship Initiative, Shane & Shane shared new music with their version of the song 'Joy to the World (Joyful, Joyful)'. 'Joy to the World' has been a Christmas tradition since 1719. Isaac Watts wrote the lyrics, and it is still one of the most-published hymns in North America. The song, however, was never intended to be a Christmas carol, as its original version had no such link. It wasn't even meant to be a song! According to church history, Isaac Watts was one of the most prolific and well-known hymn writers. However, his most famous work, 'Joy to the World,' was inspired by chance rather than desire. Watts published 'The Psalms of David' in 1719, a collection of poems in which each verse was based on a psalm. However, rather than translating the original texts of the 'Old Testament,' he made some minor changes. His poems made more explicit references to Jesus' works, implying a search for inspiration

Michael Tait - O Holy Night (CCM)

On Friday, November 11, Michael Tait released a beautiful version of the song 'O Holy Night'. Every Christmas, we can think back on the night of Jesus' birth by listening to the lyrics to 'O Holy Night.' Undoubtedly, many of us have enjoyed listening to this lovely song in our church's sanctuary or on the radio around Christmas.  But what do we know about the origins and story of this song? Placide Cappeau, a French poet, wrote the song in 1843. The song has a beautiful meaning, and it's fascinating to learn how Placide Cappeau came to write these lyrics, and how God can use anyone, whether a Jewish musician or a man who walked away from his faith, to spread the good news of our Savior's birth. The song is inspired by Luke 2:4-12, which describes the night of Jesus' birth. However, once we understand the song's history, the lyrics reveal something else beneath the surface. That God's message can still be heard through a man who lost his fai

The Genesis Music Ministry - Love (Gospel)

The Genesis Music Ministry has released a Gospel track called 'Love'. The band shares: "Love was written in December of 2020 out of a place of learning how to love in loss. So many people were passing because of covid and due to the social and political climate during the pandemic, I wanted to know how I could love in this world that seemed so loveless. I wanted to understand God's love and to be able to show that love with and for others so that God may be glorified in what is one of the most important commandments given to us." We have the gift and reminder in this lively, piano-rock, driving-drums, heart-thumping tune that 'how you spend your days, of course, is how you spend your life. Brian says: 'Maybe it's not a great prayer, as that goes, but it's mine for my life. Perhaps it's also not the best song title. But, again, it's my prayer for myself, and perhaps it'll be yours as well.' This is the second track and the lead single off brian's upcoming debut full-length album.
