Welcome to the Christian Dance Radio Top 50 Gospel Music - An example of Christian Crowd Sourcing!

Today is a special day! Today marks the start of the Christian Dance Top 50 Chart of Gospel Music. A Top 50 Chart that is refreshed weekly, and shows what you together with all of the other Gospel Music lovers in the world are currently listening to the most on the major music platforms. This is what I call an example of Christian Crowd Sourcing! Every time you listen to a Gospel song on one of the major music platforms (streams), you are contributing to this Top 50 Chart. Every listener is contributing.. and we humbly have the privilege to process the data into this chart... This is your Top 50 Chart, based 100% on actual streams. And 100% Free... you never need to pay us to see what songs are currently the most popular. So thank you very much for helping to make it clear which songs are the most favorite Gospel songs of the moment. You can listen to the Top 50 Gospel Music on Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2L0NAv4gu7xdc2pgMO3Lez The Top 50 Gospel Rank

Let the countdown begin! The Top 50 Gospel Music will be released on Friday, November 1st.

We are ready for it! Let the countdown begin. This Friday, November 1st we will start to publish the Top 50 Gospel Music every week. All songs in the Top 50 Gospel will be available as playlist on Spotify. As with all of our Top 50/100 charts, we base our ranking on the number of times that a song has been streamed on the major platforms over the last 14 days. So get ready for a surprise! Our Top 50 playlist shows that songs that are leading the billboard charts are not always the songs that are streamed the most by listeners (such as you and me) on the music platforms. Watch this space. We will share the link to the playlist this coming Friday at 09:00 hrs CET.

Which Top 50 Chart is more reliable? Billboard or ChristianDance.eu?

Since we started to publish our own Top Charts, we have been asked why our charts differ so much from the charts published on Billboard... and which charts are more reliable. Let me start off by saying that both charts are reliable... but... comparing these charts is almost like comparing apples with pears. So what is the reason that the charts differ? Billboard combines various types of data. Billboard looks at three sources How often did someone buy the song How often has the song been aired (radio) How often did listeners stream the song on the major streaming platforms When combining these numbers into a ranking, Billboard adds a weighting into their formula. We only look at one value to determine the ranking on our Charts: How often did listeners stream the song on the major streaming platforms Billboard uses two values in their calculations that we believe are given too much importance when ranking the songs in the charts. Let's look at each of

The large music platforms are providing us insights on how often songs/tracks have recently been played (e.g. in the past 7 / 14 / 30 days). We found a way to combine all of these inputs for many thousands of tracks, and (somewhat to our surprise) discovered that the tracks people are frequently listening to significantly differ from Billboard (& similar) charts. We see changes in listening behavior around certain seasons that are not reflected in the major charts... and that has fueled the idea that we could create a unique chart. We look at ALL music within a specific genre, regardless whether it is 10 years old, or has just been released. If the music is being listened to, then the number of recent plays are being considered towards a listing in our charts. In our charts, you may even see older favorites come back into the top rankings. As previously said, all that counts is the music that people are currently listening to. We now have 6 charts.
