Rowan Newcomb - Self Controlled Vulnerability (CCM)

Rowan Newcomb has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Self Controlled Vulnerability.

Rowan Newcomb - Self Controlled VulnerabilityRowan writes: "My motivation to write 'Self Controlled Vulnerability' was to overcome my trials of young adulthood as I turn 30 in late September. Essentially, this song is about remaining vulnerable and asking for help, but learning to do so at the proper time. I have learned that being vulnerable is helpful as long as there is change. However, there is no sense in being too vulnerable, because you must learn lessons and mature. This song is about finding that balance; it can be found in God's strength through prayer."

Lyrics:

What has gotten into me
Distressed and overthinking things
Where did my peace go
Will I find my way back

When I try to reach out
Will I be too much to handle
Will you give me a chance
Or will I stay detached and self-contained

Don’t be ashamed
Don’t be afraid to ask for help

We all need one another
Our sisters and brothers
Through strength
We’re unafraid

So we’ll choose to light the way
With self-controlled vulnerability
Self-controlled vulnerability

I know it’s hard
To find the balance in this life
Don’t wanna make things worse
With all my burdens and my sin

Still, I’ll try to reach out
There’ll be hope tomorrow
Will you give me a chance
Or will I stay detached and self-contained

Don’t be ashamed
Don’t be afraid to ask for help

We all need one another
Our sisters and brothers
Through strength
We’re unafraid

So we’ll choose to light the way
With self-controlled vulnerability
Self-controlled vulnerability
Self-controlled vulnerability

No matter how long
I’ll try this way
Even if the journey
Takes a toll
I know that someday
We’ll be made whole
With the strength of God
Oh Oh
Find strength in my weaknesses
I will
It’s true

We all need one another
Our sisters and brothers
Through strength
We’re unafraid

So we’ll choose to light the way
With self-controlled vulnerability
Self-controlled vulnerability
Self-controlled vulnerability

'Jesus Name' by Seek and Surrender: Embracing the Promise in Prayer

'Jesus Name' by Seek and Surrender is about how powerful it is to speak the name of Jesus. Many Christians will say, 'yes, I know that', but the truth of the matter is that speaking His name is a faith-driven force that is often overlooked as we go through our day-to-day activities.  This song gently reminds us that the truth of Jesus can overpower any lie we face, and reassures us of the freedom we find in Him. It's like having a conversation with your heart and reminding it of hope.  But there is more to this song. It expands on the promises that Jesus made about faith - especially the faith that can move mountains. I have to admit that I have doubts whether my faith can move mountains… I know I still have a way to grow in that. Thankfully, we don't need to to have mastered that level of faith before we see the effects of speaking His name.  Part of the lyrics refer to the passage, 'When you ask, it will be given unto you'. What does that mean? Anythin

Sarah Kroger, Nathan Jess - Belovedness - Live (CCM)

Are you tired of feeling inadequate and alone in your struggles? Have a look at Sarah Kroger's 'Belovedness,' a powerful ballad that reminds us of our worth as children of God. Initially released on Kroger's sophomore album, 'Light,' during the peak of a global healthcare crisis, 'Belovedness' quickly found a following among those battling mental health challenges. The revisited live version, recorded in a barn-turned-studio in the UK countryside, offers a sweet, intimate take on the song, featuring Northern Irish singer-songwriter Nathan Jess on vocals. Kroger wrote the song during a period of personal growth, as she discovered the truth of her identity through reading Henri Nouwen's 'Life of The Beloved.' The lyrics remind us to let go of our past mistakes and the lies we've been told, and to embrace the truth of our belovedness. This song is not only for the Christian community, it is also for anyone struggling with their identity, loo
