Angela Mahon has released a Christian Christmas (CCM) track called 'Here Is My Heart'.
Angela writes: '"Here is my Heart" is a song from a collection of heartfelt worship songs I am currently writing. I am sharing some sections of these songs with you as I move through the season of songwriting!"
The lyrics in the chorus are
Here is my Heart
I give it to you
I have been waiting for this moment all my life
Here is my Heart
Angela is an Irish singer-songwriter of peaceful and relaxing heartfelt Christian songs. She is building out a New Worship Music Album at the moment with these song ideas.
More about this song:
"Here is my Heart, I give it to you, I have been waiting for this moment all my life, Here is my Heart" is the hook for this song.
Angela explains that the hook is the first part song that she received behind the piano. Angela continues: "... it was from this that we developed the whole song. I say we, because Robert arranged it for me as well. I started with this part 'here is my heart' and I realized very quickly that this was like the pulse of a heart. It was like a heartbeat pulsing and then it came to me that it was very soothing and gentle. The mood and the gentleness of this piece were like a lullaby.
I felt like the words and the lyrics that represented this little hook were about the giving of one's heart and that heartbeat represented not my heart, but the heartbeat of a baby. It was the giving of our hearts
to a baby, and that's how this song came about.
I suppose it developed into becoming a full Christmas song. The original lyrics for the verses were based on what I felt was God's faithfulness true to us down through the years, even back to the time of his faithfulness of promising a Messiah.
The verses of the song represent the narrated story that we've been told down through the years about
Bethlehem, and one glorious night a mother's love brought forth this gift of new life in Jesus Christ.
In verse 2, I wanted to reflect on the journey that the shepherds and the wise men made to that crib at Bethlehem, and tying in with us the journey nowadays that we make in going to the crib in Bethlehem.
I know we can't physically go there because, obviously, we're at a different time, but it's still present. The crib is still present to us today. It's about what happens with us when we go and reach the crib, and we find the messiah our savior there. That's why the chorus reflects our response. It's when the
narration stops... it no longer tells us about the story of Christmas, but it tells us about what our response may be in seeing the baby there. That we are so overwhelmed with receiving this gift from God that we give what we can to God in our hearts.
The last part is the bridge. I really felt that after the verses on the course, the song needed to open
out to bring in all of humanity, that is to join heaven and earth together so heaven and the angels in heaven all sing together the one response. That we when we would fill hearts of joy at realizing what the gift of Jesus at Christmas is to us. Understanding that and allowing it to fully assimilate right down through our soul's minds and bodies. Our only response is one of joy and adoration and therefore the bridge opens right out to sing 'Adoramus'.
We added in lots of harmonies on that and you can hear the full expansion of a whole chorus in one voice singing 'Adoramus', that joyful response to the everlasting and eternal gift that God gave to us on that glorious night on Christmas eve."
