Moving Mountain Worship - Prayer of David (Psalm 71) (CCM)

Moving Mountain Worship - Prayer of David (Psalm 71)
Moving Mountain Worship has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Prayer of David (Psalm 71).

Dale Rugge shares: "The Holy Spirit pointed the lyrical direction of this song to Psalm 71, where King David pours out his heart to God in earnest prayer. He refers to God again and again as the source of his strength as he pleads for deliverance from, and God's justice upon, his enemies. This song has a distinctly Messianic Jewish vibe, and puts the themes of King David's prayer from Psalm 71 in modern verse and rhyme. Instruments with sounds similar to the Lute, the Harp and the Timbrel are used in keeping with what might have been heard in King David's court as accompaniment for the Psalm."

Lyrics:

In You oh Lord, do I take refuge. Deliver me, may I be rescued.
Let no one else shame me, Hear Lord won’t You save me. You are my rock, to You I come.
My stronghold and my dwelling; my fortress so compelling.
Rescue me Lord from the wicked ones.

You are my hope. You are my confidence. And from my youth, You taught deliverance.
My praise continually of thee. My words speak of Your glory. Forsake me not in advancing years.
And when my strength has left me, Lord You still protect me.
Make haste to help me and hear my prayers.

I praise You God for Your faithfulness. To You I sing, of Your deliverance.
For You alone are righteous. You restore and revive us. Lord won’t You do this once again.
And to this generation, I’ll declare Your salvation.
Your might and Your power yet to come.

To future generations, I declare Your salvation.
Your might and Your power, yet to come.

Rhett Walker - Man on the Middle Cross (CCM)

Rhett Walker's CCM song, 'Man on the Middle Cross,' is a powerful reflection on the profound impact of God's grace and mercy. The song was inspired by a sermon by Alistair Begg, focusing on the two men crucified alongside Jesus, and the transformative power of Christ's sacrifice. The lyrics vividly describe the scene of three wooden crosses on a hill, with two sinners on either side of Jesus. The first verse expresses the realization that, at times, we all can relate to the sinners on the crosses—feeling guilty, regretful, and undeserving of God's love and forgiveness. The chorus beautifully captures the experience of both sinners, acknowledging that one has been on the left, filled with guilt and regret, while the other has been on the right, always seeking conflict and thinking forgiveness is beyond reach. The overwhelming theme throughout the song is the recognition of God's grace and mercy, which are not earned or deserved but freely given to all. The br
